This British Style platform lift was installed in a location prone to flooding. As required in the specification, we needed to supply and install a lift that would remain fully operable following a flood.

To meet this specification the lift structure was powder coated stainless steel and glass. The hydraulic ram was produced from Marine Grade Stainless Steel to prevent the onset of corrosion. The lift platform automatically homes to the first floor after a timed period to take it above the floor level, again preventing the possibility of flood damage.

The lift pit is drained and the conventional pit switch, limit switch and associated electrics have been moved above floor level, leaving only the ground floor call button requiring protection from water ingress. To overcome this the call point has been mounted on a pivoting arm which will elevate the button to a position above the flood level. Call us to find out more 01256 896000.
