The Golden Tulip Hotel

Disabled Access for Hotel

The Golden Tulip Hotel, Manchester

Requirement:

As part of the Golden Tulip Hotel refurbishment, five DDA-compliant lifts needed to be installed at various points within the hotel. The Platform Lift Company was recommended as a suitable lift company for the access project.

Solution:

The Platform Lift Company specified two different types of lift for this disabled access project. Three Vertical platform lifts and two Cama stair lifts would provide disabled access throughout the hotel.

The Vertical platform lift design is free standing, comes with its own one-hour, fire rated shaft and battery back up of emergency power. This makes it ideal for the hospitality environment. The Vertical platform lift has minimal impact on the structure of the building, which aids rapid installation. Safety features include slip-resistant floors and contact-sensitive perimeter safety edges; all of which ensure a safe journey for all users, be they staff or guests.

The Cama Stairlift design is suited to both curved and straight staircases, making it a flexible architectural solution. This would ensure disabled access to all areas of the hotel. The stair lifts are made of aluminum and stainless steel, which ensures durability and reliability.

Benefits:

Both the stair lifts and the Vertical platform lifts are now used to travel between the spilt floor levels and mezzanine areas within the hotel. The disability access project has ensured the hotel is DDA-compliant and that they can offer a well-rounded service to all guests.

“The Platform Lift Company offers cost-effective solutions at competitive prices,” comments Nick Rotherwell from Multibuild.“We get a professional service from the company every time, which is why it is our main sub-contractor for all lift installations. The installation process was faultless and again, we have another satisfied customer.”
