DDA Compliant Wheelchair Stair Lift for Retail
Henri Lloyd, London
Popular retail store, Henri Lloyd, required a wheelchair stair lift for its Carnaby Street branch. The stair lift needed to fit in with the contemporary interior of the store, as well as being in compliance with both Part M of the Building Regulations and the Disability Discrimination Act (DDA).
The Platform Lift Company installed a Steplift. The lift design was tailored to the store’s requirements, to provide a bespoke wheelchair access solution. Special features included glass side panels, flush-mounted call stations and straight handrails at the store’s request.
The newly installed DDA wheelchair access solution is easily operated by the wheelchair user, or a companion. The store is now compliant with the new regulations set out by Part M of the Building Regulations and the DDA. Aesthetically, the lift design fits well with the store’s modern décor.
